This glass tube is a speaker? [Image taken from TV Snob]On this June 20th, Sony will launch it's Sountina speaker, which was once a concept. The Sountina speaker (NSA-PF1) is a transparent organic glass tube which vibrates and expands sound to 360 degrees.
Not much details were given about the new speaker except the Sountina speaker provides a frequency response of 50Hz – 20,000Hz, features an input line, coaxial, optical, sub-woofer (13cm or 5.1"), a medium speaker (7cm or 2.8"), and a tweeter made of organic glass. It measures 325x1845x325mm at 12.5kg (27.6lbs).
According to an unconfirmed source, this speaker will come at a very hefty price, which will cost around 6500€ (approximately US$10,200).
